Abstract

This is a study of literature review and hermeneutics and historical descriptive in the field of history of education/history of educational institutions, focusing on school spacesand its relations with the school time,the educational process, school architecture and historical heritage.The desired goals are: to define the school space as social space with a school time; analyze space in your school and school diversity; relate school spaces with school organization of classrooms andmaterial culture of education;analyze various morphologies of spatial organization of the classroom;Enhance school spaces in the historical-educational and in memory.Alerted to the historical interest of conservation, cataloguing, exhibition and study of school spaces and for studies of memory and material culture of the school.

Author Biography

Ernesto Candeias Martins, INSTITUTO POLITÉCNICO DE CASTELO BRANCO

He holds a PhD in Education / Educational Sciences, in the area of ​​Theory and H. of Education by Univ. Illes Balears (Palma de Mallorca –Espanha), Master in Education at the Catholic Universidade Católica Portuguesa, with a degree in Philosophy from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and in Pedagogy / Education Sciences from the Pontifical Universidade Pontíficia de Salamanca / Universidade de Lisboa – FPCE. He is a professor with a degree in University Aggregation at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco / ESE, at Dept. UTC-CSH, (co) coordinator of the Masters in Education of the 1st Cycle, 1st / 2nd Cycle, Intervention School Social and Special Education and the Basic Education Degree Course at the same institution. He is a member of SPCE (founder), Sociedad Española de Pedagogia, Institut Estuds Catalans and coordinator of the Section of Philosophy of Education at SPCE (2003 ---). He is on the editorial boards of several national and foreign magazines. He is a consultant and evaluator of some school groups and teacher training centers. He is part, as a full member, of the research center - CeiEF of UUniversidade Lusófona de Lisboa. He is the author and co-author of several books and a few hundred scientific articles from national and international magazines.
