The article reflects on the Professional Master's Degree in Philosophy at the Federal University of Mato Grosso. The first part of the text discusses some concepts and problems about philosophical education, the institutionalization of philosophy, professional philosophy and the teaching of philosophy in the state of Mato Grosso. In this part, notions from Plato, Aristotle and Deleuze are mobilized. Questions are also raised about established academic practices, such as the idea that philosophy is restricted to texts, without due consideration for the diversity of forms and methods, and the possibilities of philosophizing which, without denying the importance of the text, does not limited to textual production. The second part highlights characteristics of the UFMT center, presenting some numbers and critical observations regarding the student body, the teaching staff and the educational product. The text ends by indicating challenges for the center for the coming years with respect to communication, dialogue with alumni, physical space, extension, integration with undergraduate studies and articulation with the academic master's degree.
