GRADUATION CHARTS AS A PORTAL TO THE MEMORY OF THE “COLÉGIO COMERCIAL DE PICOS-PI” (1965-1977)

Abstract

This article analyzes the graduation charts from the “Colégio Comercial de Picos” (1965-1977), which are under the care of the Museum Ozildo Albano located in Picos (PI). Seven are the charts in the period overseen from the corresponding dates. The overall goal was to analyze the graduation charts as a register of the school culture of the “Colégio Comercial de Picos”. The specific goals were: a) investigate the graduation charts as a source in order to understand the relation between the school and the external community and b) understand the representation aspects of these charts for the school community. It was pointed, as theoretical-methodological presupposition, Cultural History (BURKE, 1992; CHARTIER, 1990) and it was used, for the analysis, the ideas of document/monument and memory of Le Goff (2003). The analysis lead us to the notion of the charts being memory-objects, a term employed by Benito (2018), and through those we were able to unveil a time, a place and life-style in the school as well as to how it relates to the community within which it is included in.

Jane Bezerra, Universidade Federal do Piauí

Estágio pós-doutoral no programa de pós-graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2016). Doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2009), com orientação do Prof. Dr. Geraldo Inácio Filho, defendeu a tese de título: Ser e Fazer-se Professora no Piauí no Século XX: a história de vida de Nevinha Santos. Mestrado em Educação (UFPI/2005), sob orientação do Prof. Dr. Antonio de Pádua Carvalho Lopes, dissertação com o título: Picos e a consolidação de sua rede escolar. Licenciatura Plena em Pedagogia (UFPI/1996), Licenciatura Plena em História (UESPI/2001), Especialização em Docência do Ensino Superior (UFRJ/2001), Atualmente é professora na Universidade Federal do Piauí, Campus Ministro Petrônio Portela, Teresina-PI, no Centro de Ciências da Educação/ Departamento de Fundamentos da Educação / Área de Fundamentos Históricos e Culturais da Educação e no Programa de Pós-graduação em Educação na linha de História da Educação.
