INNOVATION IN EDUCATION IN BRAZIL:
MAPPING THE RESEARCH GROUPS AND LINES REGISTERED WITH DGP-CNPq AND CIEB

The text presents part of the results of a study that aimed to understand innovation in education in Brazil by mapping theoretical and statistical studies, research groups and institutions. This is an exploratory, theoretical, bibliographical and documentary study, with a qualitative-quantitative approach. The mapping of research groups and institutions linked to innovation in education was carried out in the CNPq Directory of Research Groups and on the website of the Innovation Center for Brazilian Education. There was a concentration of research groups and institutions in the area of Human Sciences, linked to public higher education institutions. Most of them are geographically located in the southeast, while the north has the fewest. It was noted that innovation in education demands research in the country, particularly because the groups and institutions mapped investigate it in terms of technologies and methodologies, leaving gaps in other aspects of innovation in education.
