EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES AND POPULAR EDUCATION: REFLECTIONS ON COPING WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

This article studies the relationship between educational practice and popular education in the fight against domestic violence, with the objective of identifying the main educational practices used in the fight against domestic violence in the municipality of Caruaru-PE. A qualitative research was developed, with experience in the educational actions developed by the Secretariat of Public Policies for Women and the Maria Bonita Reference Center (Caruaru-PE), in 2023, during the "Lilac August". As an instrument for recording and collecting information, the field diary and the semi-structured interview were used. The results indicate that educational practices, from the perspective of popular education, are important for the expansion of knowledge of women's rights, for raising awareness about domestic violence as a crime, re-education for gender relations and for women to know about the existence of public policies for psychological, legal, social and educational follow-up that contribute to the reintegration and emancipation of women victims of domestic violence.
