Abstract

In this interview, we spoke with Marlucy Alves Paraíso, Full Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), about the influence of the thinking of Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze, and Jacques Derrida on the curriculum field. Drawing on her over 30 years of research and teaching experience, the professor analyzes the development of curricular research, showing how different influences have been present in this field since the 1990s. By analyzing the field and the research she herself has conducted within it, including surveys of academic production conducted in the early 1990s and 2000s, the researcher contributes to our reflection on what has already been produced and what still needs to be investigated in contemporary curricula. Marlucy Paraíso argues that the curriculum must connect to life. To achieve this, we must be attentive to creating possibilities within curricula, considering their uncontrollable dimension and concocting other existences to liberate life where it is imprisoned.
